Privacy policy

SurgingBull is a static educational website. We collect as little information as possible, and this page explains exactly what that means.

What we collect

This site has no user accounts, no comment system, no newsletter form, and no advertising network. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from (country or city level), what kind of device and browser they use, and how they arrived (a search engine, social media, or a direct visit). We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with anyone, and we do not use analytics data for advertising.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a service operated by Google LLC. It sets first-party cookies on this site (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) that give your browser a random identifier so that repeat visits can be told apart from new ones. These cookies last for up to two years. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms; you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

To opt out, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or use a browser setting or extension that blocks analytics scripts. The site works identically without them.

Server logs

Like virtually every website, the hosting provider that serves these pages may automatically record standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running reliably, and are retained only for as long as the hosting provider's own policy specifies.

Cookies and local storage

Apart from the Google Analytics cookies described above, we do not set cookies. Your browser may store the site's pages in its cache to make repeat visits faster; that data lives on your device and is not sent to us.

Our guides link to external websites, including financial regulators and social media platforms. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, their data practices.

A few links to third-party tools are affiliate links. When you follow one, the destination site may set its own cookies to record that you arrived from SurgingBull. We never receive personal data from those sites, only aggregate statistics about sign-ups.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, for example if we add an email newsletter, we will update this page and change the "updated" date shown above before the change takes effect.
